From the Farm
Our story
A Family Tradition
For over 90 years, the Strohmer Family has been farming in Woodstock. Once called "Honeysuckle Hill", our grandparents raised dairy cattle and chickens, selling their eggs and milk locally. Carrying on the tradition taught to him, our father began raising beef, cattle, and pigs, selling the meat to families in the neighborhood. The third generation continues that tradition, adding meat goats to our repertoire in 2009. The superior genetics of our animals continue to produce quality cuts of meats. We take pride in carrying on the family traditions and values that we now pass along to you, our customers, in our products. Opening the Meat Shack in 2014, we made a conscious choice to be a part of a sustainable movement. This allows us to provide better meats to local residents from around the Greater Woodstock areas. Our shop is as much about sustainability and food education as its about superior quality meats.

Our Animals
- At Strohmer's Farm, all the animals are bred, born and raised on our farm. We have 30 Angus based cows that calve annully. There are 20 Berkshire and Hampshire sows that farrow yearly, and 20 meat goats that kid each year. Our animals are pasture raised and grain finshed with corn, barley and hay from our fields. Here at Strohmer's we believe in humanely caring for our animals.
